Hillsborough County Regional Transportation (HART) Campaign
We conducted research and focus groups, collated and analyzed data and then determined people’s needs, attitudes and their understanding of the benefits of public transportation in general and of HART specifically.
Vistra used the data provided by HART on ridership to establish key demographics for the media plan. After extensive research on ridership was conducted, the media plan focused on the African American and Latino populations as key target audiences. Vistra then weighted the media plan according to the ridership: 64% African American, 23% Latino, and 13% other.
Geographic targeting was another essential element of the media plan. Over the two-year period of the “We’re Going Your Way” campaign, our initiatives were monitored and measured and showed a ridership increase of 25%. Vistra received a Gold ADDY award for this campaign.

Director of Communications
Lisa brings three decades of newspaper reporting, public relations, marketing, social media and strategic communications experience to Vistra. Originally from the Boston area, she cut her journalistic teeth at one of the nation’s top newspapers, The Boston Globe while a student at Northeastern University.
The majority of her newspaper career was spent in the Tampa Bay area including more than a decade at The Tampa Tribune. During that time, she covered education, local government and the cops and courts beat – and sometimes a combination when officials ended up on the wrong side of the law. On the job, she flew planes, went into a burning building training with firefighters, was nearly run over by bank robbers in a getaway car and, in the early years, went undercover as a high school student (district approved). Along the way, she picked up a few awards, broke far-reaching stories, interviewed people like the late, great Charlie Daniels of “The Devil Went Down to Georgia” fame, and crafted thousands of stories. What Lisa enjoyed most was getting to the heart of any matter and making policy and statistics come to life by writing about the people affected.
In 2012, Lisa traded in her reporter’s notebook, weekly crime scenes and jail visits for a job that lifted her spirit. At Step Up For Students, a nonprofit scholarship funding organization, she told heartwarming stories about those students throughout Florida who benefited from the scholarships. Lisa joined Vistra in 2021 as Director of Communications for PR. She and her team help large and small businesses and nonprofit organizations tell their stories to help them meet their goals.
