Brian Butler Named to Tampa Bay Business Journal’s Influential Power 100 List, Recognizing Leaders Shaping the Region’s Economic Future
LUTZ, Fla. (March 2, 2026) – Vistra Communications (Vistra) is pleased to announce that President and CEO Brian Butler has once again been selected for the Tampa Bay Business Journal’s annual Power 100 list, marking his sixth consecutive year earning the distinction. The honor recognizes his sustained leadership and far-reaching influence across the Tampa Bay business and civic landscape.
The Power 100 is curated by the Tampa Bay Business Journal’s publisher and editorial leadership and highlights executives, entrepreneurs, developers, and decision-makers who are shaping the region’s economic future.
“Being recognized among such an impactful group of leaders is deeply meaningful,” Butler said. “This acknowledgment reflects the collective momentum across our business and nonprofit communities that continues to make Tampa Bay a place where innovation, collaboration and opportunity thrive.”
Driven to address critical issues and drive positive change, Brian’s commitment to community is reflected through his active engagement with various local and national boards. Locally, the native Floridian established the CEOs in Schools program, placing nearly 150 CEOs in public elementary schools within Florida’s third-largest school district with the goal of facilitating partnerships and fostering education initiatives. He also collaborated with the Nonprofit Leadership Center to create a program that increased the pool of qualified professionals to effectively serve on nonprofit boards.
As a highly decorated, retired Army officer, Brian brings decades of leadership experience across public service, strategic communications, and crisis management. His career includes senior roles within the federal government and civilian sectors, including service as Director of Bio-Defense Policy on the Homeland Security Council at the White House, spokesperson and Chief of Communications for the Secretary of the Army, and contributions to the communications team for the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Throughout his military career, he led large, complex organizations and mission-critical initiatives.
